Dear Condo Owners,
The prevalence of electronic voting is on the rise, and it now necessitates a majority of unit owner votes for online participation in the upcoming annual meetings. This method covers a range of topics from the meeting agenda to the election of new candidates for board positions. Electronic voting is gaining popularity, particularly in large buildings or associations with absentee or foreign owners.
This mode of voting proves cost-effective for the association as it eliminates the need for paper, ink ballots, and postage, especially for owners who might not receive traditional election notices. Electronic voting has demonstrated an increase in participation, and it is currently considered more secure than paper ballots. While the process of presenting candidates and ballot questions remains the same, it is now conducted online, resulting in reduced administrative and legal fees and higher participation rates.
We are in the midst of evaluating several companies that offer this service at a reasonable cost, significantly less than the transitional expenses associated with circulating election and ballot materials. Massachusetts mandates the participation of all owners in electronic votes.
Please be aware that only one owner per unit should submit a survey reply. We will verify replies using registered email addresses in our system. This communication is exclusively directed to owners, and the results will be disclosed upon achieving a majority vote. Thank you for your active participation in this crucial survey.
